The Reverend Charles C. Minetree, born and raised in Richmond, Virginia,
received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1983. He continued his education for the pastoral
ministry at Concordia Lutheran Seminary, St. Louis,
Missouri, with his year of vicarage served at
St. Matthew Lutheran Church, New
Britain, Connecticut.
After graduation in 1987, Reverend Minetree’s first call was
to Christ Lutheran
Church, Gardenville, Missouri
where he served from 1987 to 1990. He
then accepted a call to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Solon, Ohio
in 1990 and continued there until 1992 when he moved to Grace
Lutheran Church
in Houma, Louisiana
where he ministered until 1995. Prior to coming to Immanuel, he served at Calvary Lutheran Church in Murrysville, Pennsylvania.
To continue his education, Pastor Minetree enrolled in the Pastoral Leadership Institute. He has also completed the Stephen Ministry Leader
Training, the Christ Care Small Group Ministry Training, and the Crossways
Class Training.
Among his professional experiences, Pastor Minetree was a
Chaplain in the Missouri Army Reserve National Guard, was Mission Action Council
Chairman and on the District Mission Board.
Auxiliary service with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod included
Pastoral Advisor to the Gulf District Lutheran Laymen’s League, the St. Paul’s High School
Guild, and the LFCS Auxiliary.
Pastor Minetree was involved in a number of community
activities including serving on the board of Chez Hope, a women’s shelter for
battered women, assisting the Salvation Army, a member of the Rotary Club, and
served with the Missouri Army Reserve National Guard. He also currently serves as Police Chaplain to the Baltimore City Police Department.
Pastor Minetree’s wife, Sharon, widowed,
brought to their marriage son Richard. Together, Pastor and Mrs. Minetree were
further blessed with two sons, Christopher and Joshua.
